Chief Marketing Officer
Hugo Pérez is Chief Marketing Officer at the OHorizons Charitable Solutions, responsible for overseeing and amplifying the organization’s brand, both online and in person.
For over two decades, Mr. Pérez has dedicated himself to being a great storyteller, finding the compelling thread in brand stories that makes consumer connections come to life. His personal story weaves across agencies and firms of all types, fueled by wide-ranging global experiences.
Mr. Pérez specializes in thought leadership, creative ideation, innovation strategies, and integrated marketing communications. As a digital native, his unique points of view and creative skills have allowed him to lead content strategies that have impacted all types of audiences for wide ranging clients around the world including Turtle Wax, Starbucks, Taco Bell, Cricket Wireless, Scotts Miracle-Gro, Allstate, MTV, Mars Inc., Frito-Lay, and AT&T. His campaigns have been awarded Peabody, Beacon, Sabre, and Silver Anvil awards. As a former journalist (NBC Network News, MSNBC, msnbc.com, CBS News), he’s also earned a National News Emmy.
While in leadership roles at various PR/advertising/marketing agencies, he helped launch new initiatives focused on multicultural marketing, shopper marketing, pharma social media, and content marketing.
Mr. Pérez is also an independent filmmaker, producing three different award-winning short films, and currently working on development of his company's first feature film.
A civic minded leader, passionately engaged in helping the next generation of leaders, Mr. Pérez is an active mentor, speaks frequently about storytelling in the marketplace, and serves on a variety of boards, committee and task forces. He has over a decade’s experience teaching at universities, including Columbia College Chicago, West Virginia University, and DePaul University.
Mr. Pérez has travelled and worked extensively around the world. He was born in Puerto Rico, raised in Chicago, and lived in the iconic cities of Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and London, England.
He earned his Bachelor's degree at Moody Bible Institute, and holds a Master of Arts from Northwestern University.
